Shawnee Lake Fall Engagement
Woohoo for rich colors and rustling leaves! Double woohoo for Sarah+Clay’s Shawnee Lake Fall Engagement because these two were super fun and teach an inspiring lesson in love and friendship.
Clay is from western Kansas and Sarah from Houston, Texas, but these two go together as well as…well, steak and eggs or biscuits and gravy. Either way you like to serve it, we’re happy this pair decided to join forces! And we have KU to thank for inspiring not only their love of teaching, but of each other. We can’t wait for your big day! It’s gonna be one for the books!
So why is an engagement session such a great aperitif for the big wedding day?
I’ll give you our top 3 reasons:
- It’s a wonderful excuse for a romantic date. Choose your adventure, something you love to do together that captures your story as a couple while you were dating. An afternoon in the park, a picnic on the prairie, coffee in the city, or a romantic walk by the lake. Wherever you choose, you’ll have wonderful memories to look back on when future generations ask, “What was it like when you were dating?”
- Use these beautiful memories for your wedding. You can use pictures from your engagement session as save-the-dates, to mark guest tables, or as decor at your venue to include your guests the story of your lives as a couple. And who doesn’t love checking items off of your wedding to-do list?! Yes, please and thank you!
- Get practice getting comfortable around the camera. Some of us get nervous at just the thought of it, being photographed that is. We find that when we give a couple permission to be themselves and treat them as our friends, fears fade and moments begin to unfold naturally. Then, when the wedding day comes, you will both be excited to steal away time for more wonderful moments together!
