Love me like lightning, kiss me like rain… Madalyn Beck
Lauren + Terran didn’t envision rain on their wedding day (or a cloudy engagement session – which turned out to be glorious, and one of our favorites!! See for yourself here.). So, what do you do when its going to rain on your parade? You grab some umbrellas and have fun! I mean who says we can only have fun in the sun?? And, to be honest, it only added to this day being so amazing.
Lauren + Terran are amazing people to begin with (I mean, she’s a fellow creative, a graphic designer + calligraphy artist, who together with her gal Samantha, designing her entire stationary suite!!) But, besides being sweet and kind, they are so in love. And they don’t mind sharing how they feel about one another. Being around them you feel a sense of calm and happiness. I think that’s because they focus on whats most important. Love for the people they care about, and especially one another.
Thanks guys for trusting us and allowing Rick and I to capture your dreamy day! XX

What they love about each other…
Lauren shares, Terran pushes me to be adventurous, he makes any situation funny, and he is my calm in the storm.
Terran explains, Lauren isn’t afraid to tell you the brutal truth or ask questions that some people might not feel comfortable answering, but she would do it the the cutest most innocent way she can always get away with it. I think it was her no B.S. attitude that made me like hanging out with her, I never had to guess how she felt about something, because she would let it be known. For the first couple months or so of our relationship I didn’t really see her as more than a friend. Looking back I’m surprised it took me so long to see that she was much more.
A little more about how they fell in love…
They met in Freshman year at Kansas State University. Terren remembers the moment he knew he had to ask Lauren out on a date…
One evening we were hanging out. Lauren was in an especially good mood, and that tends to put me in a good mood as well. I knew that I really liked her, who she was, and I imagined she liked me. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be hanging out so much, right? And although, I knew she was out of my league, I figured it was worth a chance. As time passed, I subtly flirted with her and made jokes about being together. Honestly, I don’t know what I was doing. She probably thought I was just being weird.
After a couple months of decreasingly subtle flirts, I was sure she knew I liked her, and I knew I was going to ask her out. But because of winter break, I delayed. I didn’t want her to say yes, just to have to wait a month and a half to go on a date (and for her to realize what a dork I was and to change her mind).
And after an emotional goodbye and unmistakeable sparks, Lauren makes a move…
Immediately after she left we started texting, just how friends would text. Then, one night we were doing our usual texting routine when I got a text from her that would change our lives. It basically read, ‘I know you like me, I think I like you, we should date. My face has never felt so hot! I was excited, nervous, thrilled. I had to pace the floors to collect my thoughts! She even had to follow up with an ‘Are you there??’ text before I got back to her. I told her how much I wanted to date her and I thought that sounded awesome.
Lauren: My favorite moment was seeing Terran for the first time that day. He made me calm down immediately. After that moment, nothing else could bring me down :). I wasn’t even nervous walking down the aisle like I thought I would be!
Terran: When I first saw lauren because I was really anxious to see her and after I did, i wasn’t nervous because the only thing that mattered was standing right in front of me.
