Rustic-Chic Stone Tavern Farm Wedding
Alex + Nick’s Rustic-Chic Stone Tavern Farm Wedding:
I have written and deleted this bog numerous times. I stared at the blinking cursor, expecting the words to just flow. Sharing the beautiful story of Alex and Nick’s wedding should be easy. There were so many unforgettable moments. Plus, we were surrounded by 400 acres of glorious grounds and colorful fall foliage at Stone Tavern Farm. But, mostly because we know Alex and her family well, since being a part of her sister Jessica’s wedding.
And that’s the thing. The more you know a family, the more important it is to tell their story well. Like how dad is usually quiet, but when you listen him speak about his girls, he’s proud that they all get along and love spending time together. These sisters quietly support each other, yielding the spotlight to the other when it’s her day. With the bride’s cousin the officiant, the groom’s grandmothers serving as flower girls (how adorable is that?!) and the bride and groom’s sisters as bridesmaids, this wedding was all about family.
When we arrived, Alex’s mom came up to me with a sigh of relief and whispered, “Oh good! We need your calm right now.” And instantly, we fell right back into feeling at home with Alex’s family. Everything looked like it was fully under control, but moms worry. They want their girls to be happy. And I’m glad she enlisted our help to do just that.
It was a cool, crisp fall morning threatening 70% chance of rain…
But that was not going to dampen Alex or Nick’s spirits. Knowing each other from high school, these two have a long history of friendship and excitedly awaited this day. If you know Alex, you know she is thoughtful, caring and has a keen attention to detail, not to mention style. So, there were blankets waiting for guests, golf carts to transport weary legs and a backup for an indoor ceremony. Nick is the calm and easy going voice, that in itself is comfortingly reassuring. And for these two wonderful souls and their families, the rain held out. Everyone enjoyed a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. We even had time for some family fun and a walk with Nick and Alex before the rain came down.
Alex + Nick, we can’t begin to express what an honer it has been to get to know you and your families. We may not be around the corner anymore, but we would travel anywhere in a heart beat to be with you because we love being a part of your special moments.
“We wrote our own vows, but kept them secret from each other until the ceremony. My favorite part was revealing what we wrote to each other! I’m not very good at expressing my emotions to Nick on a daily basis so I was excited to share with him exactly how I felt about becoming his wife.” Alex
Nick’s favorite moment was saying “I do” and walking back up the isle as husband and wife. And you can’t help but share in his excitement!
Thank you so much to a wonderfully creative team of vendors. You helped make this wedding absolutely beautiful!
