Flint Hills Engagement Session
Laura+Ricky’s Summer Flint Hills Engagement Session: Have you ever been so relaxed in someone’s company that you just feel at ease being yourself? Laura+Ricky will have that effect on you. They are fun-loving, easy-going, beautiful humans.
I know I’ve said it before but, I love engagement sessions! Anniversaries, day after sessions, you name it! Photographing a couple in love is just plain fun. It’s like that part of the day in a wedding during a fist look or when the couple steal away for some time to themselves. Except without any of the demands of a schedule. Nothing to think about except how much you enjoy one another’s company. Favorite! Hands down.
Laura teaches kindergarten on Post at Fort Riley. For most, simply the idea of being around 2 dozen 5 year olds all day long would bring on a headache. Not Laura. You know how some people are just perfect for a particular career? This is Laura and teaching kindergarten. Perfect fit. I wonder if it said so in her high school yearbook… It would not be a surprise. Laura is caring and kind and loads of fun. When you see her with Ricky it just makes sense. She lights up like stars in a night sky. Ricky is the guy everyone is friends with. You simply can’t not like him! He’s super easy going, smart and kind. Ricky is a contractor on Post. But he could probably do anything, as we discovered spending time with them.
Laura+Ricky met through his mother who works at the school where Laura works. He saw a picture of her on Facebook and thought she was cute. Thank you social media and mom! We are so happy these two found one another! Laura didn’t understand at first how people could just know they were right for each other in a moments time, until Ricky. When you see these two together, you will understand too. They don’t like the spotlight or being the center of attention, but these two caring people easily attract the admiration of others. We are so thrilled to have met these amazing people. Even happier that they are in love. And delighted to soon be there for them at their Liquid Art Winery & Estate wedding in the fall. Congrats again guys on your engagement!
A few tips for feeling super chill on your engagement session?
Here’s what helped Laura:
1. Find a location that fits your personality. Ask your photographer for suggestions. Which leads me to the next suggestion…
2. Meet your photographer first. Get a cup of coffee together, preferably you and your fiancee. Take some time to talk about yourselves and know a little bit about your photographer. It won’t be like you’re meeting for the first time on your shoot.
3. Feel comfortable in what you’re wearing. Pick an outfit or two that you love how you look in them and feel comfortable wearing.
4. Bring an amazing fiancee! He asked, you said yes, now have a blast!
